A horizontally oriented black ink wood engraving in fine lines depicts three boys with light skin tones lying face down in a field of tall grass. Wearing straw hats, they look to our left at a small bird trap where two birds appear. Beyond them, a wide field leads to trees and a building under a sky with birds. The title "THE BIRD-CATCHERS." is printed at bottom center.
