A dark bronze circular sword guard, aged with a textured patina, features a central oval plate with three vertical openings and two columns of Japanese calligraphy. In openwork around the plate, five armored figures are highlighted in gold and silver. Two figures at the top and two at the bottom face inward, while a fifth stands to the right. Small gold-inlaid floral patterns are scattered within the thin outer rim.
