A horizontally oriented etching and aquatint in dense, dark hatching depicts a scene beneath a massive canopy. On our left, a figure is inverted, legs kicking into a bright void. A central crowd huddles together, some pointing toward the right where a figure stands elevated with arms outstretched. Heavy shading and closely spaced lines create a somber atmosphere, contrasting with the light, open background on the left.
