A circular tsuba, or sword guard, is made of dark-brown weathered metal textured with fine vertical striations. A central, tapered slot is flanked by two oval holes. Yellow-gold cherry blossoms adorn the plate: a cluster of three in the upper right and three scattered across the lower left. The contrast between the delicate gold floral motifs and the matte, aged metal surface highlights the piece's refined, traditional craftsmanship.
