Did You Know?

This sword guard may be by the Chosun school.
A tsuba, a circular iron sword guard, features a dark, weathered openwork design. At its center, a vertical, wedge-shaped opening sits within an oval plate. Four heart-shaped leaves, two on each side, show fine, striated veins. Slender, twisted stems curve around the top and bottom to connect the leaves. Small, rounded clusters sit where the stems meet the central plate, forming an organic, symmetrical pattern.
