A tsuba, a circular iron sword guard, features an openwork design surrounding a central tapered opening. Symmetrical sections on the left and right extend to a thin outer rim, detailed with scalloped cutouts, small circular holes, and curling scrolls. Rounded loops bridge the top and bottom. The piece's dark, brownish-black iron has a textured, matte finish, its negative space forming a balanced pattern. Fine etched lines decorate the interior sections.
