A white travertine and black obsidian inlay resembles a stylized human eye, tapering to sharp horizontal points. A large, circular pupil of polished black stone is centered in the form, appearing slightly raised and reflecting light. Gray discoloration and fine cracks texture the white stone surround. The composition highlights the contrast between the weathered, matte surface of the travertine and the smooth, dark luster of the obsidian.
